North Cave Indoor Bowls Club

welcome To our social club Making bowls a friendly / competitive / affordable sport affiliated to
the english indoor bowling association and yorkshire county indoor bowling association
a firendly environment to learn to play bowls

The bowling club opened in September 1990, following conversion of the existing building to a four rink bowling centre. Since then, the facilities have been improved and extended to six rinks.

Light refreshments of tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches are available from a small bar and seating area. Since opening, membership of the club has increased from 250 to nearly 400.

We are a friendly, family run club and we pride ourselves in helping new bowlers get started. Whatever your age, you will be made most welcome.

a sport for everyone

give bowls a go!

Bowls is a versatile sport played by people aged from 5 to 100. At North Cave Indoor Bowls Club the game can be played purely socially.

We run Short Mat Club matches and competitive league matches against other clubs throughout Yorkshire. The choice is yours as you gain in skill and confidence. Bowls is a wonderful sport in all it’s forms for keeping active and socialising with new people in a friendly, relaxed environment.

If indoor bowls is a new sport for you or you wish to improve your bowling skills, we are very happy to offer help, just get in touch.

free bowling session

We want to help you try the sport of Indoor Bowls by offering you a free session with one of our bowls coaches. Bowls and shoes can be provided to help you get started.

Just pick up the phone and call us or pop down to arrange a suitable time to come and try the sport at a one to one session of up to two hours.

Our coaches will help you with the rules and the basic techniques to enable you to enjoy this very interesting game.

After two or three visits, we find that most of our new bowlers decide to take up the sport and continue to enjoy playing on a regular basis every week.

Some of our members play outdoor bowls during the summer season and join in with us during the winter months, we are happy to teach you indoor bowls without obligation.

short mat bowls

Broadly the same as bowls and played in village halls an local venues by teams of various sizes, Short Mat Bowls is great variation of the indoor game.

Teams have to out score their opponents but due to the nature of the playing surface and the intimidatory ‘block’ the skill of the game is in how quick you can adapt to the playing surface.

We play host to the Humberside Short Mat Bowling Association weekly, for further information contact, General Secretary, Kath Fussey on 01964 229510 for more information and playing at venue close to you (listed below).
